Shepherd Leash
The warm mid-day sun beats down upon this dry, almost scorched grassland landscape. I see her, 150 yards away on the neighbouring hill, a white-tail, piercing my eyes with her stare, she knows exactly what is coming next. I shoot off, sprinting down the slope at full speed. This ground is covered in mini cactuses that have gotten me before, but in this moment I don’t care, all that matters is getting that deer. She takes off as quickly as I do, I’ve chased many and never caught one, but that hasn’t deterred me yet. As I reach the valley floor I’ve gained on her, but now I must face the steep slope of the coulee. Powering up the hill I can see her now passing out of sight over the ridge, today will not be my day. But as I slow down I hear another sound “rattle” “rattle”, I know that sound and it’s best avoided, a rattlesnake. These Coulees in the Alberta foothills are fun but can also be dangerous. In the distance I hear my hoomans calling ‘Badger!’ ‘Badger!’ Best go back now, they probably need me to lead them back home.
Dry earthy tones illicit thoughts of the semi-arid desert landscapes of western Canada’s southern interior. The dry dry ground, scattered with sagebrush and the clear blue sky above. The winding snakelike structure of the leash hiding its interior core, just as the desert's shrubbery may hide a snake.

Shepherd: Monkey Fist
Dog Size - This leashes large size paired with a 5mm monkey fist gives it a narrow range for appropriately sized buddies, 30-60lbs. If you’re bigger stick to the regular Shepherd or try the Retriever with a monkey fist. And if you’re smaller both the Collie and Retriever work great
Carabiner - I’d stick to the standard carabiner for this leash since you should be under 70lbs, but if you really want one that locks you can choose it
